Unlike typical engagement locations, Morse Mountain requires intention. It’s a two-mile walk through preserved lands—a gentle ascent through dense coastal forest, freshwater marshes, and boardwalks that hum with the sound of rustling reeds and distant waves.

It’s not a place you can drive to. It’s not a quick pull-off-the-road-and-snap-a-photo kind of destination.

And that’s what makes it so special.

When Carl, Megan, and Eli arrived, there was a moment of stillness. A breath. A pause. As if the world had quieted just enough to allow them to fully immerse themselves in what this day meant.

Carl carried Eli on his shoulders, and Megan walked beside them, hand in hand, smiling in a way that can’t be staged—a mother, a father, and a child already so deeply rooted in love.

Tucked away in Hallowell, Maine, where moss-laden stone bridges whisper of old-world charm and winding forest trails feel like portals to another realm, Vaughan Woods Memorial State Park—fondly known as Maine’s Hobbit Land—became the perfect canvas for Karissa and John’s engagement session.

There’s something otherworldly about this place. The way golden light filters through towering evergreens, how the rushing brook weaves between weathered stone, and how every turn in the path offers something cinematic—something untamed, yet impossibly romantic.
