There Is ALWAYS Something To Be Grateful For
We know, We know. It’s a commonly heard quote, especially around the holidays, but at its simplest it's the truth. And the B|A team believes that gratefulness is the source of happiness.
A person with a grateful heart will find it difficult to think or feel negatively about their world. If you spend your time counting your blessings, it makes it harder to see the faults. Our minds are powerful things, and can be easily swayed to see any version of a situation. If you can wake up in the morning and find a grateful heart, what a gift to your day.
But also, come on guys, we're human just like you. We are Mama’s just like you, and friends, lovers, daughters, employees….the list goes on. A busy life does not always allow for the Pinterest views of the world, am I right?
So what are you to do?
The goal isn't to walk around only allowing yourself to see what to be grateful for, or shaming yourself for being human and getting caught up in the hard times. The real goal is to recognize that the simpler things are enough. It's okay to not feel grateful on a Monday morning that you have a beautiful home -- when that beautiful home is covered in laundry and the weekend's mess, and it's Mom’s shoulders feeling the weight. But you know what? You can feel grateful for those three sips of actually still hot coffee you got inside that beautiful home before carpool, or the giggle of your kindergartner when their favorite song came on. Sure maybe they forgot their coat and you had to make a special trip back to school, but your favorite 90’s rap song played on your drive home -- and you turned it up, belted it out, and got as low as that minivan let you go. Then handled the rest of that day like the BadAss you are, No wait, like the GRATEFUL BadASS you are.
